Since late 2022, the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) has entertained audiences globally, and later this year, will set out on its third season of competition with 14 ultra-fast riders ready to do battle in 2024.
From the season-opener in Vancouver to our finale in Abu Dhabi – with a historic double-header in Perth, Australia, in between – seven teams will be vying for World Championship glory.
But with only 14 full-time seats up for grabs in the series’ premier WSX 450cc class, it’s a tight competition, reserved for the very best in the business. And we’re stoked to get the season started.
It’s time to meet your 2024 WSX riders!
Ken Roczen
- Team: Pipes Motorsports Group
- Hometown: Mattstedt, Germany
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Result: 1st x6
- 2023 Standing: 1st
Ken Roczen is the King of WSX, and after taking back-to-back World Championship titles in 2022 and 2023, returns to the series for 2024. With six GP race wins, 11 top three finishes, and two overall victories since joining WSX, Ken has become the star of the show, but despite recently recovering from an injury sustained earlier this year, his target for 2024 is clear: he’s hunting down his third title in as many seasons.

Joey Savatgy
- Team: Fire Power Honda
- Hometown: Thomasville, Georgia, USA
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Finish: 1st x3
- 2023 Standing: 2nd
Joey Savatgy has proven himself as the only rider who can take the fight to Ken Roczen over the past two seasons. But after finishing as the runner-up on each occasion, he wants to go one better to win it all in 2024. Riding in new colours by joining reigning Teams’ Champions, Fire Power Honda, Savatgy is in a prime position to challenge for the top spot when racing gets underway in Vancouver.
Dean Wilson
- Team: Fire Power Honda
- Hometown: Glasgow, Scotland
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Finish: 1st x1
- 2023 Standing: 3rd
A fierce competitor and great showman, Dean Wilson is a fan favourite in WSX and is back for more in 2024. Since ending last season with second overall in Melbourne, Wilson has been in the form of his life, winning the Australian Supercross Championship title in 2023 before becoming the Brazilian Arenacross vice champion earlier this year. Linking up with Fire Power Honda for a third season, Wilson could be a dark horse for the title in 2024.

Vince Friese
- Team: MotoConcepts Racing
- Hometown: Cape Girardeau, Missouri, USA
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Finish: 2nd x3
- 2023 Standing: 4th
With Vince Friese, you know what you’re doing to get. He’s one of the toughest riders out there, but with hard work, dedication, and unquestionable commitment and determination, he’s become one of the best racers in WSX. Friese will do whatever it takes to win, and after coming close on countless occasions, he’ll be searching for his maiden WSX win in 2024. If he can build upon his immense consistency, there’s no reason why he can’t be a championship challenger this year.
Greg Aranda
- Team: Team GSM
- Hometown: Beauvoisin, France
- Debut: 2023 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Finish: 2nd x1
- 2023 Standing: 6th
France’s Greg Aranda impressed everybody in his debut WSX season last year and propelled himself to sixth in the standings by showing consistency at every stage. Alongside finishing second in GP Race 2 in Melbourne, Aranda finished inside the top 10 in every single race – a very rare achievement in such an unpredictable series. The three-time German Supercross champion will be looking to build on his debut season in 2024, while leading Team GSM to new heights as the French squad eyes a maiden WSX victory.

Cedric Soubeyras
- Team: Bud Racing
- Hometown: Entraigues Sur, France
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Finish: 2nd x1
- 2023 Standing: 7th
Cedric Soubeyras is Mr Consistent. He finished eighth in 2022, eighth in 2023, and will be looking to reach the next level in his third season with Bud Racing in 2024. A proven Supercross racer who claimed the highly coveted King of Dortmund honour earlier this year, Soubeyras is in the perfect position to battle against the world’s best once again this season.
Mitch Oldenburg
- Team: Rick Ware Racing
- Hometown: Alvord, Texas, USA
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP [SX2]
- Best WSX Finish: 2nd x1
- 2023 Standing: 9th
Mitch Oldenburg was perhaps the biggest revelation of 2023. After starting the season in SX2, he stepped up to the series’ premier 450cc WSX class for the final two rounds and impressed everyone from the off. By finishing second overall behind Ken Roczen in Melbourne, Oldenburg launched himself to ninth in points despite running part-time. By joining Rick Ware Racing, he will race WSX full-time in 2024 to answer one of our burning questions: just what can the Texan achieve over a complete campaign?
Colt Nichols
- Team: Pipes Motorsports Group
- Hometown: Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA
- Debut: 2023 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Finish: 1st x1
- 2023 Standing: 10th
Colt Nichols ended last season in style by winning GP Race 3 in Melbourne and has been chosen as the rider to partner Ken Roczen at Pipes Motorsports Group in 2024. There’s no questioning his talent – Nichols is one of the fastest guys out there, and after a frustrating 2023, he desperately wants to show everyone exactly what he’s capable of this season. If Nichols can find the consistency he was searching for last year, and pair that with his speed from Melbourne, his success could be endless.
Matt Moss
- Team: CDR Yamaha
- Hometown: Sydney, Australia
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP [SX2]
- Best WSX Finish: 10th x1
- 2023 Standing: 19th
Matt Moss has the makings of a World Champion, and by joining CDR Yamaha, will be in a prime position to run at the front in WSX this season. After having his 2023 cut short because of injury, Moss will be looking to make up for lost time. The nine-time Australian National Motocross champion is tough, fast and is sure to make an impact in his first proper shot at WSX later this year.

Luke Clout
- Team: Rick Ware Racing
- Hometown: Sydney, Australia
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Finish: 20th x1
- 2023 Standing: 3rd [SX2]
After finishing third in a breakout season in SX2 last year, Luke Clout will return to the premier WSX 450cc class in 2024. As one of Australia’s hottest talents, Clout will be partnering Mitch Oldenburg at Rick Ware Racing and remains a relative unknown. But given his rapid pace in 2023 and promise in ProMX earlier in 2024, there’s no saying what the New South Welshman can achieve.
Anthony Bourdon
- Team: Bud Racing
- Hometown: Agen, France
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Finish: 5th x1
- 2023 Standing: 8th [SX2]
Anthony Bourdon is back the premier WSX 450cc class for 2024 after switching to SX2 last year and will continue with Bud Racing for a second season. The Frenchman has been competitive in everything he’s raced in, and with a best finish of fifth in GP Race 2 at the 2022 WSX Australian GP, has shown that on his day, he can be up there with the very best. Alongside Soubeyras, he completes a promising and proven lineup for Stephane Dassé’s squad.
Eli Tomac
- Team: CDR Yamaha with Star Racing
- Hometown: Cortez, Colorado, USA
- WSX Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best WSX Finish: 1st x3
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Eli Tomac needs no introduction. With eight AMA Motocross and Supercross championship titles and more than 100 wins and 200 podiums, he’s a legend of our sport. After dominating our inaugural GP in Cardiff, Wales, as a Wildcard entry, Tomac will be racing full-time in WSX in 2024, and he’s targeting the World Championship title by throwing the gauntlet down to Ken Roczen.

Ryan Breece
- Team: MotoConcepts Racing
- Hometown: Coer D’Alene, Idaho, USA
- WSX Debut: 2024 WSX Canadian GP
- Best WSX Finish: 10th x1
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Ryan Breece makes a welcome return to WSX after representing Rick Ware Racing in the series’ inaugural season. Now as part of MotoConcepts, he’ll be racing alongside Vince Friese, and the pair should form a formidable lineup. Since his most recent appearance in WSX, Breece has reached the next level in his career and beat Dean Wilson to the 2024 Brazilian Arenacross title while also becoming the 2024 AMA Arenacross vice champion. Expect to see Breece mixing it with the best year, especially on shorter, tighter tracks which he’s notoriously fast on.
Lucas Imbert
- Team: Team GSM
- Hometown: Adissan, France
- WSX Debut: 2024 WSX Canadian GP
- Best WSX Finish: N/A
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Lucas Imbert is the only rookie on the 2024 WSX class grid and will line up alongside Greg Aranda after joining Team GSM earlier this year. Like every debutant, Imbert’s goals and expectations are modest, but his hunger is unmistakable – he’s ready to give it everything he’s got. An ADAC Supercross SX2 champion who placed third in the 2021 French National MX2 Championship and 2022 French Supercross SX Tour SX2 series, Imbert represents a new generation of talent.

But who is racing in WSX’s SX2 class this season? Read on to find out.
Shane McElrath
- Team: Fire Power Honda
- Hometown: Canton, North Carolina, USA
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best SX2 Result: 1st x 3
- 2023 Standing: 2nd
Shane McElrath never quits, and after winning the SX2 title in 2022 and finishing as the runner-up last season, is back for more in 2024. Switching from Rick Ware Racing to join Fire Power Honda – the team which pipped him to the top spot in 2023 – McElrath is determined to reclaim his crown this season, and with a hunger for success and thunder in his heart, is set to battle with the best at the front of the grid once again this year.

Maxime Desprey
- Team: Team GSM
- Hometown: Bourgogne, France
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best SX2 Result: 2nd x 3
- 2023 Standing: 4th
Maxime Desprey is one of Europe’s best Supercross riders, but for one reason or another, has always been one step away from claiming the top spot in WSX. The 31-year-old has been the runner-up in three GP races since joining the SX2 grid in 2022 but is arguably on the verge of a breakthrough season. Supercross is, after all, a form-based sport, and after claiming his third French Elite Motocross MX1 title and fourth French Supercross SX2 title earlier in 2024, Desprey is in the form of his life. But can he take the fight to McElrath?
Cullin Park
- Team: MotoConcepts Racing
- Hometown: Clermont, Florida, USA
- Debut: 2023 WSX British GP
- Best SX2 Result: 4th x2
- 2023 Standing: 5th
Cullin Park was one of SX2’s top performers last season and finished a handsome fifth in points despite his rookie status. Supremely consistent, Park featured in the top 10 more regularly than vice champion, Shane McElrath, but never appeared inside the top three. If Park can match his form and push for higher positions, there’s no saying what the 23-year-old can achieve in his first season as part of MotoConcepts Racing.
Cole Thompson
- Team: Fire Power Honda
- Hometown: Brigden, Ontario, Canada
- Debut: 2023 WSX Abu Dhabi GP
- Best SX2 Result: 2nd x3
- 2023 Standing: 6th
With an unmistakable determination to be the best, Cole Thompson will fit right in at Fire Power Honda when he partners Shane McElrath this season. The Canadian proved to be a revelation in 2023 by propelling himself to sixth in points despite only joining the SX2 grid mid-campaign, and with a full-time season ahead, the sky truly could be the limit for the 30-year-old.
Enzo Lopes
- Team: Rick Ware Racing
- Hometown: Rio Grade do Sul, Brazil
- Debut: 2023 WSX British GP
- Best SX2 Result: 3rd x1
- 2023 Standing: 17th
Enzo Lopes is one of the best 250cc Supercross riders in the world and will make a highly anticipated and welcome return to WSX in 2024. The Brazilian finished third on his SX2 class debut last season, despite dislocating his shoulder in practice, but has been forced to sit on the sidelines for most of this year due to an ongoing arm injury. The upcoming season will mark Lopes’ first full-time campaign in almost 12 months, and his natural speed and unmatched determination are sure to propel him to great things at Rick Ware Racing.
Kaleb Barham
- Team: CDR Yamaha
- Hometown: Gowrie Junction, Australia
- Debut: 2023 WSX Australian GP [Wildcard]
- Best SX2 Result: 10th x2
- 2023 Standing: 25th
2024 will see Kaleb Barham contest his first full-time season in WSX after making an SX2 Wildcard appearance on home turf at last year’s WSX Australian GP. A proven racer who has worked hard to refine his craft, Barham is more than ready to take on SX2 this season with CDR Yamaha after taking his first MX2 victory in the ProMX Motocross Championship earlier in the year.
Kyle Chisholm
- Team: Pipes Motorsports Group
- Hometown: Clearwater, Florida, USA
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best SX2 Result: 11th x1
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Kyle Chisholm contested WSX’s first SX2 season in 2022, and after one year away competing in the series’ WSX 450cc class, will return to 250cc action with Pipes Motorsports Group. Known affectionately across the world as ‘Chiz,’ Chisholm has very high hopes for the season ahead as he celebrates 20 years of professional Motocross and Supercross competition. After claiming a strong set of results last year, the native of Clearwater, Florida, will be hoping to push through to the front of SX2 in 2024.

Derek Kelley
- Team: Pipes Motorsports Group
- Hometown: Riverside, California, USA
- Debut: 2022 WSX British GP
- Best SX2 Result: 6th x1
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Derek Kelley first raced in WSX’s SX2 class in 2022, and after stepping away from the championship last year, will return to the category as part of Pipes Motorsports Group. After finishing ninth overall in the hard-fought AMA Supercross 250SX West series in 2023, Kelley has sat on the sidelines for most of 2024 after breaking his arm but is determined to press forward and fight at the front in WSX this season.
Ryder Kingsford
- Team: CDR Yamaha
- Hometown: Goulburn, Australia
- Debut: 2024 WSX Canadian GP
- Best SX2 Result: N/A
- 2023 Standing: N/A
19-year-old Ryder Kingsford represents a new generation of Australian talent and will make his debut in WSX’s SX2 class this season as a team-mate to Kaleb Barham at CDR Yamaha. As a rookie on the SX2 grid, Kingsford’s goals for 2024 are modest, but after placing third in the ProMX Championship’s MX2 category earlier this year, the teen sensation has high hopes when the gates drop in Vancouver.
Brice Maylin
- Team: Bud Racing
- Hometown: Toulouse, France
- Debut: 2024 WSX Canadian GP
- Best SX2 Result: N/A
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Like Kingsford, Brice Maylin is one of this season’s rookies and will take the biggest step of his career by representing Bud Racing in SX2. A proven Supercross racer in his native France, Maylin has enjoyed success domestically on his route to World Championship competition and will do whatever it takes to show his talents from a global platform in 2024.
Noah Viney
- Team: MotoConcepts Racing
- Hometown: Murrieta, California, USA
- Debut: 2024 WSX Canadian GP
- Best SX2 Result: N/A
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Noah Viney cuts a cool, calm, and well-mannered figure in every paddock, but when the helmet goes on, he becomes one of the hardest riders out there. When Viney joined MotoConcepts Racing earlier in 2024, he was told that he would be able to race in WSX’s SX2 class, but only if he was able to prove himself beforehand. Now, the teen prodigy is set to make his debut in the series ahead of what will be a pivotal season for the Canadian.
Coty Schock
- Team: Rick Ware Racing
- Hometown: Dover, Delaware, USA
- Debut: 2024 WSX Canadian GP
- Best SX2 Result: N/A
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Coty Schock is a relentless racer and has experienced a meteoric rise in his career by making consistent progress over recent seasons. After placing ninth and 10th in AMA Supercross 250SX East in 2021 and 2023, the native of Dover, Delaware, finished third in the series this year and enters WSX with strong form and clear momentum on his side. If Schock can hit the ground running and piece together a consistent season, the 26-year-old has the potential to be a dark horse for the SX2 championship in 2024.
Calvin Fonvieille
- Team: Bud Racing
- Hometown: Lescure d’Albigeois, France
- Debut: 2024 WSX Canadian GP
- Best SX2 Result: N/A
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Calvin Fonvieille is an exciting young talent and will make his debut in WSX’s SX2 class in 2024 as part of Bud Racing. With six French national championship titles at various levels, the 24-year-old is a highly promising prospect in the world of Supercross and is set to make an immediate impact and lasting impression when he bursts onto the international scene in 2024.
Julien Lebeau
- Team: Team GSM
- Hometown: Vitrolles, Provence-Alpes-Cote-D’Azure, France
- Debut: 2024 WSX Canadian GP
- Best SX2 Result: N/A
- 2023 Standing: N/A
Three-time German Supercross SX2 champion, Julien Lebeau, completes the grid for WSX’s SX2 250cc class for 2024. As part of Team GSM, Lebeau will race alongside fellow countryman, Maxime Desprey and as such, will learn from one of the best in the business. But in his own right, Lebeau is fast, and after placing fifth in the Indian Supercross Racing League, has his sights locked on a successful rookie season in WSX.
