Tom Brennan, the Ipswich star has successfully had surgery following a crash in America over the weekend.

Brennan was competing in the World Speedway International before disaster struck during practice and was taken to hospital.

Brennan Racing Team then posted a statement stating:

Firstly, thank you all for the kind messages regarding the injury and operation. Tom has successfully undergone surgery for a broken left tibia and fibula and everything went as planned. All focus will now be on recovery over the winter period and preparing for 2026.

Thank you to everyone at the track for all their help and support and also to the incredible medical team who have been very accommodating. We are now waiting on confirmation on when he can fly home and will keep you updated of his progress. Thank you
