MXGP: 2025 Season Review

NOW IS THE TIME TO REFLECT ON THE 2025 SEASON… AND WHAT A SEASON IT WAS!

The 2025 MXGP season will be remembered as one where time, talent and tenacity collided in unforgettable fashion.

Ten years after his first world crown, Romain Febvre rose once more to the top of MXGP, lifting the trophy for a second time after a season defined by resilience and relentless pressure. Pushed to the limit by fearless rookie Lucas Coenen, Febvre’s title was earned through grit, composure and belief, as a new generation announced itself on the sport’s biggest stage.

Along the way, history continued to unfold. Tim Gajser reached the landmark of a 50th Grand Prix victory, securing his place among the legends, while Jeffrey Herlings once again stretched the boundaries of what seemed possible, extending his all-time record to an astonishing 112 GP wins.

In MX2, perseverance was finally rewarded. After three seasons finishing third, Simon Längenfelder delivered the campaign of his life to claim his first World Championship. Under constant pressure from Kay de Wolf and Andrea Adamo, the trio pushed each other beyond their limits, producing one of the most intense title fights in recent memory, with the German emerging victorious at last.

It was a season of redemption, of milestones, and of moments that will echo through Motocross history,  a year that reminded us why this sport means so much.
