News has broke that Jeffrey Herlings will race in the ADAC MX Masters this weekend following the cancellation of the Dirt Store ACU British Motocross Championship.
Read the statement the ADAC MX Masters put across their channels below:
Five-time motocross world champion Jeffrey Herlings has decided on short notice to start at the ADAC MX Masters in Tensfeld next weekend. The 2008 ADAC MX Junior Cup champion returns to the roots of his career. In the interview, he talks about his early years in the series and their importance.
Herlings was once the wonderkid in the Motocross World Championship, already at the tender age of 15, shortly after his debut, won his first World Championship event and became world champion a year later. This spring, the 28-year-old set the record for the most World Cup races and the most Grand Prix victories since 2006. Meanwhile, Herlings shone 105 times as the overall winner from the top stage of a World Cup podium, the last time this past weekend, and became world champion five times.
Herlings wants to use the ADAC MX Masters race in Tensfeld to stay in momentum for the following World Championship races. For the reigning ADAC MX Masters champion Max Nagl, who went into the summer break as the leader of the table, and his opponents, it should not be easy to put the Dutchman in the limits, but nothing is impossible in racing. The fans at the racetrack in Tensfeld will certainly be the winners of the guest start of Herlings, because such a high-caliber is rarely seen live. It was possible to guess, but not to know that the Dutchman would develop into one of the best motocross riders of all time, in 2006, at his first ADAC race, which surprisingly also took place in Tensfeld.
