The sun was shining for a change, as the DRT squad headed to the new Lugo circuit in Galicia, Spain. Once again both Chambers and Bruce were showing good speed throughout the weekend, but small mistakes proved costly in the extremely competitive MX2 class. A last lap crash saw Chambers finish in 15th while teammate Bobby Bruce showed good pace in the first race but a technical issue forced him to retire.

A disappointing start for American Jack Chambers saw him stuck behind a first-lap pile up and he was unable to make his way back into the points before the chequered flag. Bruce showed improved speed in the second race climbing to 13th, before eventually crossing the line in 16th. 

The team will rejoin EMX250 rider Billy Askew in France at the Saint-Jean-d’Angély circuit. 

Jack Chambers – MX2

“I had some good battles in the first race but a small mistake on the last lap meant I finished in 15th. The second moto I didn’t get a good start and there was a big first lap pile up. I wasn’t able to make it back into the points but focus now is on France.”

Bobby Bruce – MX2

“I had some good battles, there were like 5 or 6 us together it was good. I actually felt like I was racing for a change. I just need to get that race pace back up and then I think we’ll be there. I enjoyed it, the track was brutal – now looking forward to another wet one in France!”

” It was really nice to go to a new circuit, the track rode well and it seemed like a tough one, especially with how strong the field is at the moment – a mistake costs dearly. You have to be 200% committed on the first two laps and then not make any mistakes to get a top-ten finish. Unfortunately at the moment, small mistakes make a big difference, you’re working just as hard for a 20th position as you are for a 12th position. We move on to Saint-Jean-d’Angély, and with rain forecast, it looks like it could be another muddy weekend. “
