This weekend Rafe headed to the iconic Foxhill Race Circuit for a wildcard entry at the last round of the Bridgestone British Masters Championship.
Qualifying; having not ridden the track since his auto days, Rafe was not phased by the steep hills or layout. Rafe managed some fast laps in qualifying which meant he had 9th gate pick, which was a great result.

Race 1 – The start had a right-hand bend rather than a left hand bend meaning as a rider you had to be careful not to tuck the front end and juggle between using the back brake and putting your leg out for stability. A good start, Rafe settled into his stride inside the top 10!! As he put pressure on the rider in front, the rider took a tumble in a corner, Rafe had nowhere to go and ran into the back of the fallen rider, throwing Rafe over the handlebars. The two bikes which were now mangled together, took some separating, by which point Rafe was last. He spent the rest of the race overtaking 15 riders, crossing the line in 20th place.
Race 2 – Another good start, Rafe rode with an excellent fast pace, smooth and consistent. Hitting the big jumps with ease and jumping down the steep hills, he ticked off the laps, seemingly loving every minute. He crossed the line with a well deserved 8th.

Race 3 – Having knocked his back the previous day, the pain was playing on his mind. Rafe got boxed in on the start which meant he had to play catch up throughout the race. The pain from his back was clearly on his mind and he rode in a reserved manner. Smooth and consistent and crossed the line in 15th.
Race 4 – With a sports massage and some pain killers, Rafe was feeling much better and was keen to finish the last race inside the top 10. A cracking start, Rafe quickly settled into his normal fast pace. Squeezing every little bit of power from the bike, holding the racing line with ease and flowing around the track, again smooth and consistent. He settled into 9th position and with each lap he gained on those in front. A fantastic ride and well deserved 9th place.

Overall Rafe finished 13th – Had he managed to stay on the bike in Race 1, he may have finished inside the top 10.
Thank you to NORA CRS for their help and assistance over the past 2 years, with Rafe’s contract renewed for another year, 2026 is looking to be a good year for the talented rider.
