Despite the persistent heatwaves, there was superb preparation all round at Motoland near Bath, and everything was ready to rock for Round 5 of the EMX Sparks Amped Bikes British Masters.
With three tracks in action and everything from our youngest E-Drive balance bike racers through to some seriously quick youth motocross riders, it was another packed weekend of racing.
Five races across the weekend gave riders plenty of opportunities to battle for the Round 5 overall honours and, with the championship now heading towards its conclusion, there was plenty at stake.
Here’s how the action unfolded…
JUNIOR TRACK 1
12” E-DRIVE BALANCE BIKE
Super Chester Crump took his trademark red Mohawk on his crash helmet to another fantastic weekend, completely dominating the class.Chester reeled off five wins from five to take the Round 5 overall with the maximum 225 points.Behind him came a titanic battle between Maisie White and Jessie Arnold. Maisie eventually secured second overall on 210 points, with Jessie completing the podium on 198.Quade Welling was a new name to the series and rode brilliantly to take fourth overall, while the exciting Jetson Chessell completed the top five.Ruben Lee took sixth, clear of Harlow Jay Bailey in seventh. Zayde claimed eighth, while Harrison Smith made his series debut and finished ninth.Lolana Wheeler completed the top ten despite not competing on day two.

The pocket rocket himself, Noah Dark, took the overall victory after an incredibly close weekend-long battle with Poppy Meredith.Just one point separated these two flyers after five races, with Noah taking the win on 217 points to Poppy’s 216. There was some fantastic close racing between the pair throughout the weekend.Smooth and consistent riding from Henry Waterman earned him a clear third overall on 202 points.Roman Bridges claimed fourth, while another new name to the series, Leo Crago, impressed on his way to fifth.Koah Hewitt finished sixth, with Ava Quinn in seventh. Great stuff from all of our 250W racers.

16” 400W E-DRIVE BALANCE BIKE
Supermarine Jimmy Smith dominated the 400W class from the get-go.
Jimmy was unstoppable across the weekend, winning all five races and collecting the maximum 225 points.Behind him, things couldn’t have been much closer. Hayden Pottinger secured second overall on 202 points, just one point ahead of Tommy White in third. Tommy had bike issues in Race 1, making his recovery to a podium position even more impressive.AJ O’Connor was a clear fourth overall Cree Ryker Grant claimed fifth on 178 points, just four ahead of Jesse Aldred in sixth. Henry Church finished seventh after only competing in three of the five races.

JUNIOR TRACK 2
18” E-DRIVE BALANCE BIKE
The second winner from the Meredith family was Mr Harry Meredith, who dominated from start to finish on his 18` Amped Comp bike. Harry took the maximum 225 points with five wins from five – and if there were points available for style, we’re pretty sure he would have taken maximum points there too!
Auley Luxton produced a super-consistent weekend to take a clear second overall, while Jenson Chiles completed the podium in third.The fight for fourth was much closer, with Joey Jones taking the position by just three points over Seb Carr in fifth.Hudson Picton finished sixth, with Harper Luxton only two points back in seventh. Another two points behind Harper was Aria Jones in eighth.
Ronnie Gardner took ninth and Elsie Evans completed the top ten.Olivia Colcutt was 11th, followed by Rosie Harvey in 12th and Max Dunn in 13th.
Rio Coburn finished 14th after a frustrating weekend of bike issues. Rio could only score in two of the five races, which was a real shame because when everything was working he had the pace to run inside the top three.

Mr Cellan Rees was the main man in the 20” class, winning four of the five races to take a convincing Round 5 overall victory with 222 points.Cian Bradshaw secured second overall on 213 points and was the man who prevented Cellan from completing the clean sweep, taking a cracking race win himself.
The final podium position went right down to the wire.
Hugo Harris and Emy Gardner finished the weekend tied on 192 points, with Hugo taking third overall courtesy of the better result in the final race.That left Emy fourth, with Miss Freya Waterman completing the top five.

Paddy Bell dominated proceedings in E1, winning four of the five motos to take the overall victory on 222 points.Chester Crump kept him honest throughout the weekend and finished things off in style by taking victory in the final race.That gave Chester second overall on 213 points and brought another strong weekend to a close for the young racer.

Boycie Clements was flying at Motoland and came away with a hard-fought overall victory.
Boycie took three race wins across the weekend, but George Fenwick kept the pressure firmly on him by winning the other two.After five races, just three points separated them, with Boycie taking the overall on 219 points to George’s 216.Reggie Lewis was a clear third overall, with Hudson Holloway taking fourth.Keegan Jollise completed the top five after competing on day two.

Boston Cleft was super quick all weekend and emerged as the clear E2 winner with 214 points.
Behind Boston, the fight for the remaining podium positions was much closer.
Theo Palmer eventually secured second overall on 203 points, just five ahead of William Jago in third.
Archer Safe made it a super-close top-four battle and finished only another two points behind Jago in fourth.Leo Dugmore took fifth, followed by Cree Ryker Grant in sixth, Harri Llewellyn seventh, Arthur Thomas James eighth, Brody Bolitho ninth and Tommy Truman completing the top ten.
Jetson Chessell was 11th, while Axel Shellard finished 12th. Axel would undoubtedly have been further up the overall standings had it not been for a non-finish in the opening moto.
Kalen Wheeler completed the field in 13th after only racing on day one.

Mr Henri Lewis completely whitewashed the opposition in PW50 Standard.
Henri looked seriously quick all weekend and took five wins from five for the maximum 225 points.
Things were much closer behind him, with Taytum Hickey securing second overall on 203 points, just five ahead of Denni Morris in third.Denni was always in the mix and rode brilliantly throughout the weekend.Tommy Halliday was another rider constantly involved in that leading battle and secured fourth overall.The consistent Miss Lilliana Stephens claimed fifth, while Axel Farina Bray took sixth by just a single point from Caelan Greig in seventh.Arthur Thomas James was eighth, Maggie Evans ninth and Miss Aria Hall completed the top ten.
Ruben Lee took 11th, followed by Tommy Jones, Nala Wheeler and Rafe Marklove.

Mr Cameron Raynes had a cracking weekend in this hotly contested class, eventually taking the Round 5 overall victory by just four points.With four different race winners across the five motos, that tells you everything you need to know about just how competitive the E3 action was.Henry Chamley took second overall on 205 points, only two points ahead of championship leader Marley Jobson, who completed the podium in third.Jimmy Smith was always involved in the battle at the front and secured fourth, while the smooth-riding Blake Thomas put together another strong weekend to take fifth.
George Kidd was sixth, Oakley Price seventh and Santiago Khakbazan eighth.
Isaac Colcutt claimed ninth, with Billy Randall completing the top ten.
Oliver Hasell finished 11th, with Tommy Lavin 12th.

Tommy Bridges finished eight points behind in second and ended his weekend on a high by taking victory in the final race.Rory Ritzka actually won the opening race of the weekend but slipped further down the order in the following motos and didn’t race on Sunday, ultimately leaving him 17th overall.
Consistent riding from Kayden Waldock earned him the final podium position in third, with Harry Perkins taking a clear fourth.Then came an incredibly tight fight for fifth.Rufus Culliford and Teddy Williams both finished the weekend locked together on 173 points. Rufus had the better result in the final race and therefore claimed fifth overall, leaving Teddy sixth.Elvis Hugh was seventh, just one point ahead of Ruben Williams in eighth.Auley Luxton took ninth, with Ricoh Burke Easton completing the top ten.
Henry Church was 11th, closely followed by Noah Combstock in 12th.
Seb Carr, Haydn Pottenger and Cian Bradshaw filled 13th through 15th, followed by Ronnie Gardner, Rory Ritzka, Duggie Evangelista and Oaklie Seldon.

Miss Jemmima Tooley took the overall victory after a fantastic weekend-long battle with Poppy Birkett.
Jemmima took three race wins to Poppy’s two, and after five motos just three points separated the pair.Jemmima finished on 217 points, with Poppy right behind on 214.Poppy Randall completed the podium in third on 204 points.A special mention has to go to Poppy Randall after a really heavy crash on day one. To come back and race again on Sunday was impressive enough, but she finished the weekend with second place in the final moto, showing fantastic determination.

50CC SMALL WHEEL AUTO
Miss Amiyah Haughton dominated proceedings from start to finish.
Amiyah was flying out front all weekend and looked majestic doing it, taking all five race victories and the maximum 225 points.Ronnie Marchant secured a clear second overall. Ronnie also produced one particularly impressive charge back through the field after an issue left him with plenty of work to do.
Tommi Lewis claimed the final podium position in third, just three points ahead of Logan Thompson in fourth.Bobby Nolan took fifth, only two points ahead of AJ O’Conner in sixth.
Jacob Perkins finished seventh and undoubtedly had the pace to challenge for a top-three overall, but two non-finishes proved costly.Albie Wood was eighth after only racing on day one.Theo Hancock had to settle for ninth overall after his bike broke on day one and left him unable to continue. Theo returned on Sunday and immediately showed what might have been, taking a second and a third.

Mr Charlie Needs has already wrapped up the 50cc Big Wheel championship with a round still to run, having won every round of the series to date.
Charlie dominated again at Motoland, taking all five race victories and the maximum 225 points.
Ronnie Evans did push him on occasions, as did Rory Ritzka, although Rory’s overall result was badly affected by two non-finishes.Ronnie went on to secure a clear second overall on 208 points, with Ethan Thomas claiming the final podium position in third.Barney Harris took fourth, four points ahead of Rozcen Hickey in fifth.Things became incredibly close behind them.Beauden Szpadt secured sixth, with Huxley Gilchrist and Hunter Martin finishing tied on 160 points. Huxley claimed seventh on the tie-break, leaving Hunter eighth.Hunter produced some marvellous starts during the weekend, including one which saw him right up at the sharp end. A couple of spills ultimately cost him a higher overall, but he is definitely progressing nicely.Alex Edwards took ninth and Apollo Newton completed the top ten.Cellan Rees was 11th, followed by Reuben Grabham, Henry Davey, Harry Perkins and Freya Martin.Rory Ritzka ended the weekend 16th following those two costly non-finishes, with Ezra Guyton 17th.

Louis reeled off five wins from five to complete a perfect weekend and take the maximum 225 points.
Ellis Owen battled away to secure second overall, while the final podium position couldn’t have been much closer.Kaylum Clark claimed third on 190 points, just a single point ahead of the stylish Freddy Jones in fourth.Osian Davies took fifth, with Lewis Tobin sixth. Lewis would undoubtedly have been higher up the order had it not been for a fall at the start of the opening moto which left him last and with a huge amount of work to do.Ortus Simons rode well to claim seventh overall. Garin Battenbough followed in eighth, Kayden Waldock took ninth and Oscar Lewis completed the top ten. As usual, there were fantastic battles throughout the 65cc field, particularly from 11th through to 15th where very little separated the riders. Paisley Cleft took 11th, followed by Mia Jones, Kai Germain, Albie Trewartha and Grayson Blake Martin. Rupert Foden was 16th, followed by Harper Newton, Emy Gardner, Olivia Templeman and Noah Whittaker. Bentley Sage and Luca Symmons completed the field in 21st and 22nd respectively.

Jexten Taylor was absolutely flying over the weekend and certainly gave the throttle cable some serious stretching – and sounded lovely doing it too!Jexten took five wins from five to complete a perfect 225-point weekend.Noah Brown was consistently quick in second and regularly mixed it with the Big Wheel 85s.
Some fantastic riding from Milo Williams earned him the final podium position in third. After some injury-hit seasons, it is great to see Milo’s confidence continuing to grow.
Lewis Atkinson secured fourth overall ahead of the ever-charging Miss Cadi Bradshaw in fifth.
Efan Jones took sixth, with Ethan Evans completing the standings in seventh.

Oli Staples was in dominant form in the Big Wheel class.
Oli looked smooth and classy throughout the weekend, taking all five race victories and the maximum 225 points.The hard-revving Macauley Williams was a clear second overall on 210 points, with Arthur Trewartha completing the podium in third.Amiee Needs secured fourth overall, ahead of Presley Pritlove in fifth. Cameron Addis took sixth, with Jemmima Tooley seventh. Kai Churchwood was classified eighth after suffering a big crash during the weekend which resulted in him being taken to hospital. Everyone at EMX Sparks sends Kai and his family our very best wishes and love. We hope he makes a speedy recovery and that we see him back around the paddock as soon as possible.Phoenix Denner was recorded as a DNF for the event.

The EMX Sparks series continues to grow and grow, and we want our riders and families to play a part in making it even better.One of the biggest developments going forward is our new KWIQR digital signing-on system, which entered the next stage of live testing at Round 5.KWIQR allows riders and parents to enter their details through the app before arriving at the event. When they get to signing-on, they can simply present their QR code, scan it on the iPad and complete the signing-on process.A number of families helped us with our first live test at Round 5 and we were delighted with how well it worked. Those who took part also received a free KWIQR T-shirt as a thank you for helping us test the system.For our final round, we will be looking to get as many EMX Sparks competitors and parents as possible onto KWIQR to help us test the complete process.This has the potential to be a massive step forward for the championship and the sport, making event entry and signing-on quicker and easier for competitors, parents and organisers, while helping us get our race days underway on time.And now there is just one round remaining!
